Checking notification setup…
Open Add as App instructions
Optional. When enabled, our server stores your push subscription and saved point IDs to send alerts. No account or GPS location is needed. API calls are logged for usage counts. Turn it off to remove the subscription.
Alerts cover changes between available, unavailable and closed for plastic, cans and glass. Missing or stale reports don’t trigger alerts. We check about every 2 minutes while the server is running; delivery can be delayed. Open the app to check the latest report before travelling.

Add Bottle Return Points to your Home Screen for a handy app icon.
You can also keep using it in your browser. No account or app-store download needed. On some phones, an installed app has separate storage — add your points after installing if your list starts empty.
About the statuses Reports come from the public BCRS locator. Plastic, cans and glass are checked separately. “Available” means at least one relevant machine is reporting available; it doesn’t guarantee the shop is open. Public opening hours still apply.
Reports older than 15 minutes, missing reports and connection failures show “Unknown”. We never keep live availability offline.
API access logs To count API calls and distinct IP addresses per day, we privately record the request time, API endpoint, response status and IP address. Logs are kept for 30 days. These counts include automated app refreshes and bots; they are not install or individual-person counts. API access logs do not contain search text, GPS coordinates, notification subscription details or your saved list. No cookies or advertising trackers are used.
Your saved points and privacy By default, your chosen location IDs stay on this phone in your browser’s LocalStorage. No account needed. No cookies or advertising trackers. API calls are logged for simple usage counts.
If you enable notifications, we also store your push subscription and those point IDs on our server so alerts work while the app is closed. No GPS location is needed for alerts. Turning notifications off removes the subscription; inactive subscriptions expire after 90 days. Clearing site data removes your saved selections.
The search target uses your location only when you tap it and allow access. It suggests the locality of the nearest return point; your coordinates are never saved or sent to our server or a geocoding service. Directions opens your map app, which has its own privacy settings.
What do the plastic, cans and glass statuses mean? Each material is checked separately using reports from the public BCRS locator. Available means at least one relevant machine has a recent available report. Reports can change, and retailer opening hours still apply. Missing or old reports show Unknown.
How do I save a bottle return point? Tap Add, search a locality or road, and select the locations you use. Your choices stay on your phone in that browser. No account needed.
Can I use this as an iPhone or Android app? Yes. Open Settings → Add as App for instructions. On iPhone, install from Safari, then open the app from its Home Screen icon to enable notifications. Your saved list remains handy offline, while current reports need a connection.
